Coming to Terms

Payton's surgery is scheduled for March 25th. We have to be there at 5:30am! I don't think Mike, Payton, or I have seen 5:30 since she was a newborn not sleeping through the night. This shall be interesting for sure. There is no way either of us will get any rest until she is out of the hospital. The orthopedist said they are typically in there for 2 days. I am slowly coming to terms with all of this, Mike is still sorting his way through it, the way only Mikee can. HA! We both want to do, say, something to get our point across to our ex-pediatrician however. I just don't think I can take legal action though, I have given it thought. I just want to put this in the past as quickly as possible. I've been doing my best to explain what will be happening to a 2 yr old. It is so cute to here her say "my sordery". I just know she's going to wake up from the "sordery", not able to move her legs, freaking out, looking to us to help her. Wow! Anyhow, this too shall pass! Thanks to all who have given support, and advice. If I am missing from church for awhile, you know why. We meet with the Orthopedist on Monday for pre-op talk. I hope this calms me more than freak me out more. We'll see!

    Wow--I just can't imagine two days of recovery before coming home. As scary as it may be for her, at least she is young enough that she won't remember it.

    You're all in my prayers. I hope that her recovery will be very fast.

    How long does she have to be in her cast?? I talked to Becca, b/c I thought her sister had the same thing, but she had something different with her hips, but was in a full body cast for almost a year when she is 1. She just got a full hip replacement again when she was 25. Would Payton have to do something like that as well?? Or is it too early to tell? Well anyway good luck with all this, I know it has to be stressful, but I know you are strong enough to handle it!
