Yearly Update.

Sadly I only manage to do one blog post a year. My last one was 9 months ago! So here we go with the updates.

Mikee's business is growing. He now has somewhere around 10 accounts, and also supplies the commissarry on base with their plants to sell. He is going through World Cup withdraw right now, but plays soccer with some guys from church on Saturday mornings. I should start doing a yearly Mikee injury list. Last blog post it was cutting off the tip of his finger, this year it was tripping and falling, and while catching his fall his car key went into his hand! No pictures this time however. eek! He is all healed up and enjoying his summer now. Mikee surprised me for our 5th anniversary in May. He got a chalet in the mountains of Gatlinburg. We took in some shows, had the best burger we've ever had, and just relaxed with no children. He would be upset if I didn't add that the chalet he picked out had a hot tub on the deck, and a jacuzzi upstairs. He did a great job, I was definitely surprised.

Payton is also loving the warm weather to play in outside. She loves going swimming. She has also been doing a tumbling class this summer. She is learning somersaults ( which she is pretty good at ), backward somersaults, head stands, cartwheels, the "splits", the bridge, and the basket. She is always excited to show what she has learned each week. I'm thinking about putting her in swim lessons. Just looking for something to keep her busy since we're going to wait one more year for preschool. She talks and talks and talks, and loves to be a big sister. She has her last surgery coming up in November to get her hardware taken out. We decided to give her the summer without any surgeries. It will be with a new surgeon since her last one made the news, but we feel good about it.

Shelby is turning 1 tomorrow! I no longer have a baby. Mixed feelings about this. She follows her big sister everywhere, and is proving to be our little daredevil. She is fearless. She is not quite walking yet, but is starting to cruise and push furniture around as she walks. She still has her dairy allergy. So now that we're done with formula (YAY!!), she's drinking the soy milk and loves it. It's hard finding things she can eat though. She had soy ice cream for her birthday party. No cheese or yogurt. She can have bakedfoods with dairy though. She now says uh-oh, hi, and mamamamama when she is sad or tired. She popped out some top teeth this month. Just growing and learning new things everyday.

I've been trying to expand my knowledge in sewing, attending a sewing class put on by a sister in the ward. I still haven't made anything besides rag quilts, but I'm learning. Just trying to balance wife, mommy, part-time sonographer, and trying to keep my sanity.

We did have a new addition to our family. No more children but we did get a puppy! He is a Mal-Shi (Maltese / Shitzu), around 5 months old now. We've only had him for a month, but he is a big part of the family now. He is very sweet and playful........and a puppy. We have found a few chewed up things, but he is getting better. His name is Chewy after all.
We visited my grandma recently in Missouri, and got to see some family we haven't seen in years. It was a fun 4th of July on the lake. Payton met her twin, who just so happens to be her 3rd cousin. ha!

That's about it. No excitement right now, which is just the way I like it. So till next year!

Updates

It's time for some updates now that I'm nearing the end of my maternity leave! I've had such a productive maternity leave this time round. An awsome Sister in the ward taught me how to sew and I made my first quilt (for Shelby). I cleaned out all the closets and 2 car garage. We can finally park our cars in it!

Payton is still improving with her Physical therapy. She goes once a week and is getting around a little more every week. She is still months away from walking I'm sure, but she is working hard to get there. She has mastered potty training, even at night! You can imagine this wasn't very easy since she can't walk and get on the potty alone, but she did it! She has realized what the terrible 2's are all about. She through a temper tantrum in church last Sunday. When we got home she was put in time out. As she and I are sitting there in silence, she looks at me and says, "Mom I love you very much!". She knows how to manipulate us~ HA!
Shelby is growing like a weed. She now weighs 10 1/2 lbs! She's been smiling a lot, but only for her mommy. hee hee She hasn't done it for Mikee yet, but I got pictures to prove it. She is still having some problems with bowel movements. She can go 2-3 days without a BM. Hopefully she'll work this out as she gets older. She is sleeping in her own crib now, and wakes up 1-2 times a night for feeding. It looks like she is going to have blue eyes like her mama.
Mike is back in school to finish his Landscape Design / Horitculture Degree. We'll see how busy we'll be once I go back to work next week. Grandpa Potter will be watching the girls on Wednesdays while Mike is at school, and I'm at work. So thankful we have family here to help with the girls! Mike cut the tip of his pinky finger while working at the Pub and had to get a few stitches. He also sprained his ankle playing soccer. I tell ya I shouldn't let him out of the house.

We just had my grandma (Payton & Shelby's Great-G'ma) here for a few days for Shelby's blessing. We had such a good time having her here with us. Payton still asks for her first thing when she wakes up thinking she is sleeping in Shelby's room still. HA! So lots of changes for our family this summer. Here some pictures to share!.......
